Soooo Cute!

I just thought I would show off my talented kids! Some of the music on Taylor's and Averi's videos are very loud-beware! Pause my music player first too! I am so proud.

Here is Averi's impromptu concert!

This is Christian's great imagination at work. He made a Star Wars movie.

Here is Taylor's cheer performance. She loves it, and does so good too!

I love them!

HELP! I HAVE NYRS/ISMS!

I've got NYRS! This stands for New Years Resolution Syndrome! Yes, it is real because I have it and if it wasn't real how could I have it? I don't have an acute (short period of time) case, I have a chronic (everlasting) case of it. Since every day can't be Jan. 1 st, it turns itself into "I'll start Monday syndrome" throughout the year. Now this isn't only pertaining to the fact that I can't fit into my clothing, but also paying bills, reading my scriptures, having Family Night, doing a budget, cleaning my house, and a whole list of better mothering skills! AHHHH! I get agitated just typing about it!

So, I was watching Oprah (I love her) today while I was eating lunch, and I had an "A-Ha Moment" (as Oprah would say)! She was talking about how she fell off the wagon of being healthy and how she gained 40 lbs. this last year. Well, I totally relate to her because I did the same thing, but not quite 40 lbs. thank goodness! She was talking about the reason people eat and why they gain weight and that is psychological. I always hear this, but I can never think of a reason I overeat except for the fact that I love food! She decided that it was because she wasn't "loving herself" enough. What she meant by that was that she was giving and giving to everyone else and she was running her "well" dry so she ate to feel calm and happy. I decided that THIS IS WHY I OVEREAT TOO! Being a mom is such hard work and we don't give ourselves enough attention and replenish our "wells" and then we try to find calmness and balance somehow, and I eat for happiness-I love to sit down with my yummy food at night when it is quiet and relish the moment! This is my problem! I am an emotional eater, I eat for EVERY emotion, happy, sad, stressed, bored whatever- it is calming and relaxing to me! I need to find something besides food to feel calm and relaxed every day!

So, my New Years Resolution was to lose all of the weight I gained back this year, but not anymore! My new Resolution is to find BALANCE and REPLENISH MY "WELL" OFTEN! I think if I love who I am and like me for me, I will care more about being healthy which will make me want to take care of the body that Heavenly Father gave me. By doing these things, I know my body will find it's healthy/happy weight and I will be more energized and available to do the things to cure my NYRS or ISMS (I'll start Monday syndrome). I will not be too tired emotionally or physically to plan Family Night, or to do my Mom Jobs. I will enjoy cooking because it will be healthy food that fuels my body and makes my family healthier.

So...if any of you have good ideas on how you take time to replenish your "well" please share! I need to have some ideas! I need some ideas on balancing my life too. If I write this stuff for everyone to see, I will be more inclined to do it.

May we all find a way to replenish our "wells" weekly!

Freakin' Fabulous!

O.K., so we haven't really done much of anything during this break, so my title is a little misleading. However, I do think that sitting around eating and watching movies with the family is fabulous. We all got some kind of virus so we have been worn out, so this has suited us all fine. We are like the virus magnet family. You would think that we would have immune systems of steel by now!

I think that sitting around and eating has helped me work towards making my "New Years Resolution" if you know what I mean! YIKES!!!!

We all had a wonderful Christmas. The kids were up until 3 a.m. Christmas Eve and almost caught Santa several times. I am sure that Santa was very worn out from trying to hide from them! It was too much excitement! We all got very nice gifts from everyone, and best of all we got to spend it with some of the family! That is our favorite part! Our kids had so much fun with all of their new toys, and James and I had fun napping in front of our new fireplace.

We wish everyone a Wonderful 2009!

So...we weren't too good at pictures this year, but here are a couple!
